Formcar 365-219 

Currently owned by Jyrki Laine (Finland).  Found a few years ago in very sad condition - stored under a tarp for many years.

The previous owners would like to remain unknown. The car was found Nov 2011 in my friend's neighbors backyard. The man had bought it from local car dealer and used it as a toy on an ice-track until it went broken. This possibly happened early -80. After finding it went to a guy who never start the project. He contacted me in 2016 and I bought it back.

It is ex AAW racing team car. In the chassis is a locally made stamping "SF66 FV4". In the first race it was driven by Raimo Kossila who was very famous rally driver (pic below). He drove e.g. Monte Carlo Rallye in 1966. After that it was raced by several drivers. The most successful was Seppo Pitkänen who actually won two races. The car was active racer from -66 to -70 and after that it came back to tracks in -73 when it was modified to next level according to a double carburetor rules. Front beam was changed to a newer, bodywork got extension on a front cover (nose cone) and back cover was taken out. After season -73 all the valuable parts were stripped out. A race engine and gearbox was changed to standard 1200 parts. You'll find racing statistics below.

The bodywork is very bad condition and the chassis rails are corroded but there is still the most of original parts left. Intention is restore it as close to original car as possible. However FIA rules must be followed for Historic Technical Passport.

My other car is Autodynamics MK1 which I restored 2002 and raced until 2010. Members of Helsinki Car club made two Autodynamics kit cars in -67. Today my daughter drives this car.

 Restoration is 'in process'.  This was the SECOND Formcar in Finland and most of the history of formcar in Finland is available in a book at http://www.scuderianaftalin.com/tuotteet.html?id=4/886 (it is written in Finnish).  The owner of the first Formcar (not this one) was Antii Wihuri (VW import company and Racing team AAW owner) who introduced Formula Vee in Finland in 1965 !
